Construction postponed at Brighton railway crossing
Postmedia Staff
Work originally planned for Monday, November 28, to complete the final phase of construction on the Prince Edward Street (CR 64) railway crossing in Brighton has been postponed until a later date. Prince Edward Street will remain open with no impacts to motorists or pedestrians.
Northumberland County was notified late today that the planned construction work for Monday, November 28 will be deferred until a later date. The County and the Municipality of Brighton remain firmly committed to implementing the enhanced safety features at this busy crossing and are working with railway partners to reschedule the work. There is no confirmation yet of when the work will be rescheduled.
Once a date has been confirmed, updates will be shared to confirm timing of this work and when the signals and features will be fully activated.
Please note that in light of this postponement Northumberland County will no longer be hosting an information booth at the CP Holiday Train event on Tuesday, November 29.
