Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) was thrilled to accept a $20,000 donation from the Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary at their Annual General Meeting this week.

“Spring is in the air and there's a lot to look forward to this year,” said Leah Johnson, President, Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary. “2023 is the Auxiliary's 85th anniversary and we're pleased to kick off celebrations with this fourth installment towards our $100,000 commitment to the future Fracture Clinic expansion. The Auxiliary and the Foundation share a goal of supporting our local hospital, so we're proud to make this donation.”

“The Fracture Clinic is one of the busiest places at BGH, seeing 10,000+ visits each year,” said Steve Cook, Executive Director, Belleville General Hospital Foundation. “But It's also one of the most underserved. That's why we have plans to make this space the best it can be, to provide the best care for our community. But that is only possible with the support of partners like the Auxiliary. We're incredible grateful for the support and efforts of every Auxiliarian. Their support brings us closer to seeing this project become a reality.”

The Fracture Clinic's future expansion is a key focus of Belleville General Hospital Foundation's Be Well Campaign, which aims to raise $20M for critical regional services at Quinte Health, Belleville General Hospital which serves 190,000+ patients each year, from Picton to Bancroft.

The Auxiliary's committed team of 200+ volunteers serve patients and visitors across the hospital through their programs and services, including the Aroma Café, Tuck/Gift Shop and the Opportunity Shop in downtown Belleville. 85th anniversary celebrations will take place throughout 2023, including an Open House at St. Matthew's United Church, 25 Holloway St., on Wednesday, May 10, 1-3 p.m.
